Board of Directors

Richard O. Watkins, Jr. MSW, LMSW, CAAC-R, Executive Director

Mr. Watkins is the founder and Executive Director of New Light Consultants, Inc. He is a graduate of the University of Michigan. He has earned both his Bachelors and Masters Degree in Social Work from the U of M. He is a Licensed Masters Social Worker in the State of Michigan. He has extensive experience in providing services to children and individuals seeking to overcome addictions to alcohol and other substances. He has provided direct service and administrative functions in the public and private sector.

As the founder of New Light Consultants, Inc. it was his belief that all individuals should be able to receive professional and quality counseling services in their homes despite their income or insurance status.

Sandra M. Hurst, MBA Operations Director

Sandra Hurst has a MBA in Health Care Management from the University of Phoenix and a Bachelors degree in Social Work from Michigan State University. She has 25 years of experience in providing Mental Health and Child Welfare Services.

Linda Hesson, Psy D. Clinical Director

Dr. Hesson has her Psy D. in clinical Psychology. She is the Clinical Director for New Light. She has provided Mental Health and Substance Abuse treatment for over 30 years. She has provided services in a variety of states across the U. S. Her specialtiy area is working with child sexual abuse and substance abuse. She has worked as the Clinical Director for Insight Recovery in Flint Michigan.

Dr. Fe Quines, MD- Medical Director

Dr. Quines MD acts as the Medical Director for New Light Consultants and New Light Child & Family Services. She is the owner of Caro Family Physicians and has three clinics in the Tuscola County region. She and her partners have been providing family health care services to the citizens of Tuscola County for over 25 years.

Brenda May- Vice President Brenda has served on the Board of Directors from the begining inception of New Light. Brenda is an educator by training. She offers the organization much energy and coordinates fund raising activities.

Beverly Leach- Secretary; Beverly has been a member of the Board of Directors for two years. She is business manager in the Millington Communty. She has understanding and experience in the financial sector. She participates in the organizations finacial committee is able to offer valuable suggestions.

Larry Dressel CPA Esq Trustee.- Larry has been a member of the Board of Directors for over ten years. He is an attorney and CPA by training. He has assisted the organization in legal matters and provided consultation on a variety of issues.

Greg Stanislawski- Trustee: Greg has been a Trustee on the Board since 2009. He is an active member of the community. He has assisted the organization in building and repair issues.

T.J. Beckman- Trustee- T.J. Also joined the board in 2009. He is an active member in the community and active in promoting and supporting the organization.

Jim Cobb- Trustee- Jim joined the New Light Board of Directors in 2010. He is a life long member of the Millington Community and a successful business person within the region.

Wallace Kent, Jr. Judge Kent joined the New Light Board of Directors in 2011 following his retirement from the Family Court Bench of Tuscola County. He is a strong asset in helping New Light Child & Family develop a strong and effective Child Welfare program.
